MBBS Admission Process in india

MBBS full form is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. MBBS is an undergraduate medical course and the duration of the course is 5½ years. Candidates who are willing to become doctors must complete an MBBS Course.

MBBS Admission takes place solely through the NEET Exam and students are allotted colleges based on their NEET scores. NTA has released the NEET 2024 exam date and NEET is scheduled for May 05, 2024. MBBS and NEET eligibility requires students to be above 17 years of age and have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as compulsory subjects in class 12. However, NTA has recently relaxed its eligibility criteria. Top MBBS colleges include AIIMS Delhi, CMC, Vellore, BHU, Varanasi, JIPMER, AMU, Aligarh, etc. The average MBBS course fee ranges from INR 30,000 to INR 1 Crore.

MBBS Syllabus is spread across 9 semesters followed by a mandatory 6-month internship. The curriculum is divided into 3 segments with subjects including Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology. After completing an MBBS, students can become doctors and earn a starting salary of INR 6-8 LPA. Candidates can seek employment as doctors in private and government hospitals, and armed forces, and even run their private clinics.

What is the MBBS Admission Process?
The MBBS Admission Process is done solely based on the NEET entrance exam conducted by MCI followed by a state-level MBBS Counselling. The only MBBS entrance exam is NEET in India which permits students to get admission for BDS, MBBS, BVSc, and UG Ayush Courses.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria

MBBS Eligibility requires students to have scored sufficient scores in NEET. Moreover, appearing for NEET requires students to have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. However, a recent development by the National Medical Commission has allowed students with Biology as an additional subject to appear for NEET.

MBBS Fees
MBBS is one of the most expensive courses in India. The long duration of the course as well as the intricate nature of subjects involved is the reason behind a seven digit fee. To the rescue, the fees of government MBBS colleges is far less than private colleges. For a basic idea of the same, please take a look at the table below:
